"Modeselektor and Apparat cap off their album trilogy with III, possibly the strongest incarnation of their sound yet and brilliantly treading the line between big room club sounds that keep a firm eye on more indie-rooted worlds. Every sound is perfectly moulded into shape to create a vast picture of eyes-down electronica. Opener Eating Hooks picks up where Rusty Nails left off with a sullen Burial-esq UKG beat building in intensity before the killer Running hits in, coming off like a cross between Lorenzo Senni, Thom Yorke and Marcel Dettmann (imagine that!) while Finder glances towards Modeselektors 50 Weapons fav's Benjamin Damage and Doc Daneeka. The trio take in mnml dnb with Animal Trails while The Fool could be the biggest contender for crossover track of the year. Props to the trio for sticking to the roots of their respected backgrounds and crafting an album that pushes more traditional underground sounds to new audiences, Moderat are fast setting themselves up as this decade's Radiohead. If you have ever bought anything on 50 Weapons or Monkeytown this is a must check."
